I'd say (according to the picture) that your male is quite a bit older than 3-4 years. My 3 years old is much less bulky and have less developed jowls. It could be because of the keeping conditions though. I tend to keep my animals on low-fat and low-protein diet (more than 80% of food is plant matter, mostly collected wild greens), so it's possible they grow slower.
