You may be right Nino. At least about the care/diet.
When I first got this subadult male close to 2 years ago he
was considerably smaller in size/length and not as bulky. He
also had a hard time with shedding and was extremely flighty
(scared). His jowls were not as full as they have become while
in my care. He has not doubled his size in this time but close
to it. I still believe he is a young adult of not over 5 years
at this time.

I feed all the gallotia my turkey salad mix on a daily basis.
It includes ground turkey, boiled egg, tofu, yel squash,
greens and veggies, flowers and a sprinkle of calcium/vit
mixed in daily. I top it with some of their favorite fruit like
strawberry or banana slices. Maybe once or twice a week
I offer some ground chicken dog food. As an added treat
they get a few superworms or crickets maybe once a week.
They expecially get some exercise while chasing down the
faster crickets.
