Posted by: emysbreeder at Mon Apr 20 23:33:20 2009 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by emysbreeder ] I have never heard that.Is this emys emys,phayrei or both.Mine have only laid 1 clutch per year for 20 years.So thats a new one on me.They dont do it more than once in S Florida eather as far as I know and its more like your weather there.I guess being on the wrong side of the world can screw things up.They must go by rain seasons there.They always start after a hard rain for a few days after a long dry spell. How far out,learn something new even after 20 yrs.Two of mine,one CB in 95 laid 41 eggs and her mother laid 51 on the same day.(4-19)Very early this year with a short nesting time compaired with the normal long drawn out 2-6 wk.ordeal.These were phayrei,I have 4 more pairs to go.My emys emys normally lay in late Sept.
