When I got my frilly, he never seemed to see or care about the water dish for the first several months, but I did leave it in. As time went by, I would take a day off work now and then and sleep in. SEVERAL times when I would get up at say 9ish, and walk past his cage in the living room, where was he? In his water dish.

Here is my theory. 9ish is when everyone would usualy be off to work or school, leaving the house perfictly quite. That is when he feels comfortable enough to go down and drink/soak. Why at that time you ask? In the wild preditors will hang at waters holes mainly waiting on a meal. Even though they are CB, this genetic information is hard wired into their brain. They are very vulnerable at this time. So I am willing to bet he is using the water bowl, but just when you are not around. Leave the water bowl in!!
