lol Don't worry about it. They aren't endangered, and the possession limit is of lesser concern than something like jaywalking, or dog leashing. If you're afraid that the authorities are going to decide to waste their precious time checking how many lizards you have some reason then don't keep more than two.

Also "A current California freshwater sportfishing fishing license is needed to take, or collect, reptiles and amphibians in California, except for rattlesnakes, which are not protected by law", so you better make sure you have one of those licenses as well. I guess you better let it go if you don't. jk
