I do not live in an area which Brown Anoles usually live, so I don't know they normally keep one "home" they like to stay at.

This morning as I switched my Anole's lights from night to day, I noticed my Anole watching me... on top of his cage! Apparently they can squeeze through holes half the size of their body (noted). I immediately, but cautiously as not to scare him, inspected his body for wounds from his escape. He seemed fine.

I was interested in the fact that he didn't stray from his cage (even though he was outside of it). That was quite a relief. I opened the screen carefully to give him an easy entrance back in. And slowly blocked off other exits from his vision. I tried to talk him into going back, but he wouldn't listen. Gently nudging his little toe with a feeding tweezer scared him into going back.

He was quite calm and light colored (usual coloration) when he was atop his cage. And me not easily scaring him is normal (I know generally that's not good, but I'm the only human who doesn't easily scare him).

Questions:
Does the fact that he escaped once mean he's going to try again?
Aside from sealing the small holes, is there more I can do?
Is the fact that after he had freedom, he decided to stay on his cage at all significant? Or is it possibly a fear of dropping that kept him there? Or just coincidental?
