The new egyptian I got Monday seems to be doing exactly what I was told he would do after arrival: hiding and hiding well. I haven't seen it since Tuesday afternoon. How long should I expect him to acclimate before he starts basking? He's a pretty stout uro, so he'll likely tolerate some time without food just fine. I'm just getting anxious.

My temps are pretty solid. It's 97 ambient on the hot side. The basking spot is at 123 at it's peak mid-day. The surface in the center of the cage floats between 88 and 93. The cool end is between 76 and 80. I've yet to see it go below 74 degrees at night, and I get home from work at 4am when it's as cool as it's going to get.

Probably just need to be patient, but if there's any advice I'd appreciate it. He's a great looking lizard and I'm excited to get to the point when I see him basking and chowing regularly.
