Hello
My name is A Marty, I wanted to let all interested folks Know about the origins of the stillwater hypo bullsnakes. Back in 1990 a good friend named Bill Fitzgerald owner of Riverside Reptile Ranch in Stanton Mo was in Waynoka OK at the rattlesnake roundup. He would go just about every year to rescue as many snakes as he could. The majority of them he released. He was looking in a bucket full of bullnakes and saw one that was an orange color. He purchased the entire bucket for $15.00. He kept the orange one and released the others. She was a five foot female that was obviously gravid. She laid 7 large eggs. All of them hatched. this was her only clutch in captivity and she died 2 years later. I ended up with a pair from that clutch. In 1994 I bred them and ended up with 8 viable eggs and 2 slugs. Out of these I got hypo's and normal patterned orange bullsnakes. The next year I did the same thing with the same results. In 1996 I was going through a divorce and had to sell my collection. Ginter bought all my bullsnakes. I am extremely happy to see so many people enjoying them. They are still my favorites. I would be happy to hear from anyone working with them and breeding them.
