Posted by: Rosebuds at Sun Jun 7 22:10:50 2009 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Rosebuds ] I had a mite issue here, and used provent a mite on beardies, skinks, and a uro, and thought everything was fine. I did not use it directly on the animals, but sprayed it on paper towels, let it dry really well, then put it in the vivs. I did not use it in collared or chuck vivs, but they didn't get mites anyway, so that was lucky. Then about two weeks or so into the treatment, the beardies would not come out of hiding, and the uro quit eating and his snalt turned iridescent green! He had no sign of respiratory issues, so I quickly removed the bedding with the provent a mite and cleaned the vivs. After about a week, everyone began to eat and behave normally again, and the uro's snalt went back to white. He is absolutely fine now and eating like a pig as usual! I am convinced that the provent a mite was the culprit. I have not seen any mites, so it worked, but I will not use it in lizard vivs again!
