Do any of you guys hibernate your spotted turtles outside in the winter?

How if you pond set up for this? I have talked to some of the Koi people in my area and they said at least 30" deep is needed to not freeze solid.

I would build the pond using a 45 mil liner. What would you line the inside of the pond with?

Any other tips/suggestions for doing this?
