Hi,

I have 2 female african clawed frogs that are both sisters and a little over 2 years old. I raised them from eggs so I'm rather attached to them.

They are living in a 20gal long aquarium right now, with plans to upgrade to a 50gal sometime soon. Anyways, I have a filter but I don't keep it on all the time since it's kind of loud and I read that the water movement bothers them. I do a 50% - 75% water change once a week (every friday), with a vaccuum cleaner. They have sand substraight and drift wood hides.

I unfortuantly can't test the water peramaters right now since I ran out of stuff in my testing kit. I'm planning on heading out to the petstore probably tomorrow or tuesday to get new stuff.

I feed them a mixture of live foods and pellets. Usually pellets, with occasional live foods to vary their diets.

Okay so - when I was cleaning their tank last friday I noticed that when they come up to the top of the water to get air, they make this weezing sound when they suck air in. I don't know if it's normal or not - I never noticed it before and I couldn't find anything about it online.

Could they have some type of respirtory infection or something? Is there any kind of treatment someone could recommend?

Thanks in advance!
