Good luck. You should keep your eyes on her and be prepared for anything. I had my first attempt with breeding carpets this year. Previously I had only bred corn snakes and geckos.

I found my two coastals copulating several times. At one point he seemed to lose interest, so I separated them. She grew quite plump and started laying with her belly turned up sometimes, so she really appeared gravid. At that time I posted a few questions on here and got some good advice.

Almost exactly 25 days after her pre-lay shed, she layed two slugs. Some breeders told me that was not unusual. Two days later she layed 18 eggs but all slugs! They were yellow in color with no obvious shell. That was a huge dissapointment, but I learned a lot in the process and I have my fingers crossed for next year. My suspicion is that either my male didn't have good sperm production, or that I didn't leave them together long enough. I think the timing of her ovulation and their mating may have been less than optimal. Next year I will plan to put them together more often and keep them together longer.

Sorry to give you such a downer story. It was a big dissapointment for me. But I guess my point is to keep your eyes on her and be prepared for anything.
