I would suggest that you buy a cbb animal rather than a farmed import. Their survival rates are higher. We are still learning about the Canaries. Some adults have stayed yellow, many change into a beautiful lime green and then change back, some stay that green. There's no telling what they'll do, and I don't know if anyone can give you a difinitive answer on whether yours will stay yellow or not. Expect to pay a bit for the snake though. They aren't the cheapest of the types since they still aren't common. I don't know what their temperaments are like. I don't have a canary and haven't heard one way or the other.
