I have used a rubbermaid with dryer hose as a hide. It works fine. They seem to like the hose more than the tub, though - probably because it's so spacious, even with sand in it. They prefer snug hides where they can wedge in. I don't use the tubs anymore, mostly because they're so big. Now I use slate over pavers like you mentioned; pre-formed "mesa" hides that are low, compact, and lightweight; and kitty litter pans filled with sand, with a slate over top except a gap at one end. I used the litter pan set-up for nest boxes this last year and it worked very well. They seemed to like them as hides, too, (and as a place to dig), so I kept them. ----- Torey Eugene, Oregon, USA 1.1.5 Saharan Uros (Joe, Arthur, Waddles, Stilts, Hitch, Lefty, and Skywalker) 3.0 Mali Uros (Spike, Turtle, and Tank) 1.1 Ornate Uros (Scuttlebutt and Shazzbot) 2.3 Collared Lizards (Ripcord, unnamed male, Thiamine, Riboflavin, and Niacin) 2.0 Green Anoles (Bowser and Sprocket) 1.1 Chubby Housecats (Roscolux and Jenny)
