Hopefully not permanent. The other thought is that if the room remains at 90 all the time, it might be warm enough to cause issues if there's no cool area for them. Most would be down on the bottom of the cage or laying in the water if necessary though. I'm crossing my fingers that it was from the paint, especially with it coinciding with the same time.
