You can find Rubbermaid stock tanks at Tractor Farm Co. stores and some "feed and seed" stores, and they run less than $1 a gallon - so go big if you can, especially if it's going to be above ground to help with temperature fluctuations. If it's for a mud or musk, make sure to give climbing areas to reach the surface - water depth usually isn't an issue so long as they can climb to the surface in several areas - even egg crate screen propped on one side will help with climbing.
