That was my first instinct as well, since I'm right in the middle of their range, but the normal run of the mill of Gray Treefrogs up here are actually very dark gray and distinctive... with no green on them and the simple white patch under the eyes. They also have no yellow which is what's throwing me off on this guy... as well as the patterning on the hind legs.. I've looked up pictures of both, many with wide variations but there's many of each that are heavily similar save for the yellow patch under the eye. Every Gray I've ever caught in my area has had a white patch under the eyes, no striping on the legs, no green at all, and no yellow edging like this guy.. Maybe he's just a good looking example of a Gray.. though he did vocalize last night and it sounded awful close to the Bird Voiced .. then again I'm not the best at seperating calls either. Whatever he may be, I'm keeping him for a new 10 gallon Terrarrum I'm putting together.. Live bamboo, some Arums and a few small Angel plants with a bio substrate base which I've already got going... He should lead quite a happy life no matter what species he is.
