You can run a typical light cycle, you can correspond it to your light cycle....if you're getting 14 hours of sunlight for example, run 14 hours light/10 hours dark. If you want to go all out, you can pay attention to the light cycles of the animals natural habitat and try to mimic that. As winter approaches you'll run less light, more dark simulating breeding season light cycles, which you can also mix with your seasonal cooling. Hope that makes sense.
