It's a really good wheel. Big enough for most adult rats, but the technology is baby-mouse-tail safe. There are really no cracks or bars or dangerous areas, even if one was like under-behind it while another was running in it. I wish I'd been able to find one with construction that well-planned which wasn't such an ugly shade of pink, but if it gets Lupe to do something in there besides sit around, bask, watch me, wait for food, and eat, then now that I have something ten inches wider than their old 75-gal I can let her have it without cutting into the other two's space.

Pancho and Chica are more like yours. So are Lupe's hatchlings. They all bounce around and exercise just fine. And Lupe herself is actually quit strong and fast when she wants to be. She's the only one of the trio who goes right up onto two legs when exploring the living room, and she loves to take running leaps onto furniture, but... circling around in the cage, or running for a split-second and then having to stop and change direction, just doesn't motivate her.
