Looks like a western toad...although I don't see a dorsal stripe...the photos won't enlarge... I wouldn't worry about it not eating right now. It looks plenty fat.. It probably just needs time to adjust. I feed mine large crickets and super worms, I hand feed him the worms : ) ... I'm not sure about the roaches, I suppose you could try...
They are very easy to care for.. Here's a couple pics of one of mine in a ten gallon tank with a simple setup. He's been in there for a few years, and is happy and healthy. I like to use moss for substrate, cause it's clean, doesn't stick to the toad much, and get the water dirty. .....Make sure you provide the toad with a large water dish at all times, or it will dry out and die... No tap water, the chlorine will kill... Only use well filtered water, or bottled spring water.
