Maryland salamander/newt? ID

so i live near baltimore MD and i find these little salamanders in the rivers around here.they are no more that an inch or two long,brown with a few little yellowish spots and have gills like my siren.ive been kinda looking for a picture or info but being as i dont know what it is i have not found any.ill try to get a picture soon but no promises
