Some sites say that African Clawed Frogs are good for beginners, but those are illegal in some states, so it depends on where you live. African Dwarf Frogs are also sometimes called beginner frogs, but I have reasons to doubt that, as so many are currently infected with chytrid. I hear that most die shortly after purchase.
