//I can't fall back on much experience, however the GTP I have doesn't try to push on much of anything. He explores his enclosure every night, yet never seems to push on the lid. However, this could simply be his disposition, and may not mirror that of the majority of GTPs. Regardless, it's always better to be safe, rather than sorry.



To answer your question, however - I think taking some precautions with an enclosure is never a bad thing, and it sounds as if you're doing just that. You should be fine.
