I am new to the forum and have enjoyed all of the pics of the amazingly beautiful collared specimens. I will be visiting New Mexico this week (primarily Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas) and would like some advice on where to go to observe the best variety of herps, especially collareds and horned toads. Is there a particular area that would have an especially colorful variety of collareds? Any suggestions on where to go, what time of day, etc. would be greatly appreciated. My son is extremely excited about the prospects of seeing collareds in the wild (we live in Wisconsin so our local herp viewing is very limited) and I am hoping he will have the chance to see some nice specimens. Thanks and hoping someone out there can chime in with some help.

Brian Stewart
