I tried to edit the size of the photo because it was distorting the layout of the page, and when I saved the edit, the code for the photo was gone.

If you email me the image, or the URL of the image, I'll resize the photo for you and edit it back in. So sorry about the technical problem! But definitely don't post photos wider than the page -- edit them down in size, or just link to them if you don't want to edit.
