Candoia B. Australis cannibalistic?

Does anyone keeps Candoia B Australis in groups/pairs? I was considering buying a nice couple from a friend, he kept this adult pair almost 1 year together. Unfortunaly last week the female ate the male. I have heard these stories about young Paulsoni but never Australis.
