I'm not talking about little babies, I'm talking about '08s. The last month or so I've seen Pancho have a lot of non-hungry days, and also more porking up by Chica and Lupe. Well, OK, Litle Fat Lupe was always prone to that, but now so is Chubby Chica. I didn't dare hold back on the food during breeding season. And since this will be their first winter in Ohio, I'm not crazy about any of them eating less when soon my concern might be the exact opposite. But still, now that breeding season IS over and their growth rates certainly do seem to be slowing I'm wondering if maybe I should be way less concerned with keeping them as fed as I have been. How many crickets per day is actually normal? Mine were breeding and growing at the same time, so I never really got a chance to figure out what their "default appeite" was. Figured I'd cheat off people who had the same size/age. The girls are July hatchlings. Pancho is an October. All are about 10-11", but he still has that short-bodied juvenile proportioning. The girls are much girthier and even a bit larger-headed than he is, so I'd call them adults, but he seems kind of right on the line still. His body still seems rounded enough, although he still looks slender next to Chica and Lupe. He's smaller and hyperer than they are so it seems he could lose weight quickly. I've never seen him refuse food for more than maybe a day or two per month before, so I just want to get my expectations normalized. ----- 0.1 2006 Western Hognose (Bebe) 0.1 age unknown Cane Toad (Hengo) 0.1 2005 White-Banded Sheen Skink (Minerva) 1.0 2006 Northern Diamondback Terrapin (Queequeg) 1.0 2006 Madagascan Speckled "Hognose" (Sigmund) 1.0 2008 Bullsnake (Winkle) 1.2 2008 Eastern Collared Lizards (Pancho, Lupe, and Chica) 0.0.2 2009 Eastern Collared hatchlings
