Our 6-year-old Mali has not shed his tail portion for almost two years and I'm getting more and more concerned about it. His body has shed easily 6-7 times since he last shed his tail, and recently the sections where the scales connect looks almost flaky. The tail is still bright in color and spiky, and he's eating, sleeping, roaming as usual.

Has anyone else had problems with tail shedding? Could there be an infection that would cause his tail to not shed? I think a vet visit is in order, but I wanted to know if there was something I could do at home before I freak him out with a lot of poking and prodding.

Thanks!!
