You need to take a pic OR get a really good look at them then search for ant pics online. Black Larger yard ants seem to be okay.
Red/orange ants may be fire ants, which you can't feed.
And you might destroy the colony of ants in your yard if you get 30-40 ants a day that an HL requires to eat daily.
