That is sad... it's a shame he must feel so threatened by everything. Just leave an outside light on and see if you attract any moths. Sometimes even when they will not go after any food you give them, they will get excited over a moth flying around their cage. Or try bigger bugs, bigger sized cricket or roach, something that seems different to him.
