I just fed my Jungle Carpet a couple of small live rats. He nailed the first one from his perch in his tree branch and lifted the rat off the ground before the rat knew what happened. I've witnessed this before, but when he went after the second rat he was coming down from the branch and cornered the rat. The rat was facing directly at the snake. The snake then began swishing his tail around really eradically and when the rat looked away towards the tail, the snake struck the rat and wrapped up on it. I thought this was a pretty clever stategy and I've never witnessed this before.
Has anyone else witnessed a similar scene?
