>>I have gotten a couple of 11x7x5 rodent breeding lab tubs. I was going to breed mice in them but have been debating doing rats.

>>I will be feeding about 20 adult kings which I was going to switch to rat pups. I also have 8 balls which I would raise up some rats for in a large tank. I also have hatchling kings which will not take rat pinks even fresh borns. I was thinking of going half rats and half mice to cover all my feeding needs and freezing any excess.

IMO these are mouse tubs. Personally I would probably consider them a waste but you could go with a small mouse group in one...like maybe a 1.3 esp. if you weren't raising all the babies to wean.

I am a space waster...but over the years find it easiest for me and the animals. Mice go in 15X20 tubs and rats are in 18X24 cages.Nest boxes (recycled cereal and tissue boxes etc) and some have wheels. Groups are usually 1.6 for mice and 1.4 for rats. But I am eclectic in my keeping and go by feel so much over the years that it is hard to say....this is how to do it.
