I think fall may be finally approaching the deep south!! The temps were ungodly hot this weekend and daytime temps were in the upper 90's. However, it got a bit drier yesterday and we are supposed to be getting a cool spell this week. My russians did not rush out to feed yesterday as they normally do and the female was actually digging a burrow at the back end of their house in the pen. I am really hoping this gal may drop some eggs this fall. I need to keep an extra eye on her to see what is going on with her excavation activities. Anyone experience fall egg laying? A recent article in Reptiles Annual 2010 by Joe Heinen suggests they lay in the fall. Maybe I am just keeping my fingers crossed to tight LOL!!
