>>Anyone else have success with inter species fostering? There have been a few times when a domestic rat neglects her litter so Ive tried mixing the rat pinkies in with ASF rat litters and gerbils litters. surprisingly they have been accepted. I even had a Mouse successfully raise a ASF litter.. just a fun part of the rat breeding process i guess.

I have only had success to weaning with mice to mice of various species (IE Mus mus raising Microtines) but not mice to hamsters....they may go a week or even two and then there is wholesale slaughter....Like they suddenly figured it out. Rats to other rat moms but not had success fostering pups to another species.
