If you can find a juvenile cham of 3-4 months old that would be fine. If you find an adult, you don't want one older than 1 year (unless you adopt one or rescue one of course) as chams don't live all that long. But, an adult will be showing you its personality. An older juvenile will be starting to show its personality too. You just want to avoid a tiny new hatchling less than a month old. Better breeders won't sell them right out of the egg.
