Hello,

I have a Macquarie turtle and there is a problem with his shell -

Originally in the tank (4ft) I had small pebbles on the bottom and put a stone in. I removed the small pebbles down the bottom as recomended and I thought he might have chipped his shell on the rock. I removed the rock weeks ago and there is another 'chip' out of his shell. The rest seems perfectly normal - he has been shredding a couple scrutes in the last few days.

From looking on the net it doesn't deifnately look like shell rot and he seems perectly happy and healthy apart from these chips.

Does anyone know what this is and the best treatment? Should I take him to the vet?

Thanks in advance.
