Hey,
I read a reply to a post on here that said the red dye used in certain dog foods was ok for the rats, but leathal for the snakes. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me, as I've never heard of this before.
I'm very concerned because, although I typically use lab block food for my feeders, I occaisionally run out an have to substitute my dog's food for a day or two (this happens infrequently, and only for a day or so at a time).
I'm wondering if the red dye passes throught the rats' system or if the absorbtion is cumulative. Can I wait 'til they've been on lab blocks again for a while, or do I have to scrap my feeders and start over?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks ----- Allison
