Hi,

A week ago, I picked up a 1y/o male Dumeril's from a reptile show to eventually breed with my female. When I spoke with the breeder, he said that he was eating two mice a week.

I have tried to feed him twice since I've gotten him, and he shows interest in the mouse and will strike at it...but it seems he would rather play with his food than eat it. Some of his strikes seem pretty uncoordinated. Other times he will have the mouse, but will let it go and not wrap it.

I feed my snakes individually in a rubbermaid box.

Is this something I should be concerned about?
