I think either way you will be happy as long as you find that right baby from the right breeder.

i have been around tame carpet and tame dumerils yet on the other I have also seen my share of grumpy carpets as well as dumerils. all comes down to individual animal and handling and personally i feel how parents temper is also.

both can be kept in tubs growing up both will be fine in 4x2x12 cage or if you wanna spend extra 4x2x18 for the carpet with perches. both will take f/t no problem usualy tho both also have picky eaters tho every species there is always that one or two picky ones. Also both can be tame and great pets.

Just make sure you find a good breeder ask alot of questions find one thats young and preferably tame and on F/T already and I think you will be happy and of course if you can see pics of parents if color is a factor for you

I hope this helped a little bit sorry if this isnt the responce you were hoping for
