Does Brumation differ with age?

This is the first season I am letting my babies stay outside during the colder months. I fixed a nice sheltered area within their regular habitat for them to "hibernate," but they also have the freedom to come & go and wander around at will. They are taking to it like it's a 5-star hotel!

My adult female usually disappears around this time of year and I don't see her again until the spring. However, the babies are still somewhat active and I'll see some of them out on the warmer days. I was just wondering if this is what they would do in the wild?
