I have done many 1.2 breeding groups, and with larger males (140g ) it works fine, just keep an eye on the male, give them breaks to get meals, ect. I tried doing a 1.2 breeding group with a ~110g male this past year, and it didn't end well. Neither female became gravid, and the male went off feed for around 3 months after I took him out.
