If you're looking for a slower moving snake, you may want to think seriously about a carpet. In my experience, ours is fast. He whips around like lightning. Much faster than our balls. As for size, ours has reached six foot, weights about four pounds (not sure what that is in grams) and he's still not done. He stays in a 4 ft high x 2 x 2 custom built enclosure, which should serve him the rest of his life, if he doesn't get bigger than we expect him to. He's mostly arboreal, usually leaves the branches for a few hours after he eats and when he's about to shed. He's a feeding machine, you have to regulate them. As for temperament, they're territorial. They don't like being removed from their enclosures. They'll act like they're going to bite, but usually it's just a bluff. Once their out of their enclosure, with proper handling, they settle right down. If you're hoping this is a snake that's ok with being handled once a month, this isn't one. They need weekly handling, starting at a young age to make them more tolerant. As for a look--see, he's a pic of our male, Samson, he's supposedly jungle carpet x diamond python. If you want to see some more pics of him, let me know. Hope some of this helps.
