It needs to be a small container with lid so the gecko doesn't just climb out of the water. After about 10 minutes or so, gently pull the dead skin from his toes. Mineral oil can also be directly applied to the feet as well, though this is likely to seriously hamper the gecko's ability to climb till the oil comes off.
