Hi just wanted to let you know that waxworms should only be a treat maybe couple times a month because they have a very high fat content. Don't worry about them not eating mealworms if they didn't start on them as babies it is hard to get them on them. You could try Phoenix worms or roaches as well.
As for gutloading the crickets I personally use a dry receipe I do a mixture of 4 cups chick mash or hog mash,4 cups crushed dry dog and/or cat food,11/2 cups fish flakes,1 cup dry milk, and 1/4 cup calcium powder. sometimes I add rolled oats too. This is a dry mixture and my crickets love it. I also feed them the fresh vegies such as carrots, potatos, zucchini which they love, lettuce and apples. The fresh vegies give them their liquids so I don't have to worry about gels or any other water source. I keep a dish of this dry mixture and fresh vegis in the crickets container at all times. In the long run it is much cheaper then any store bought stuff.
You should also be using calcium with D3 and a vitamin powder for dusting. I personally mix a little of each powder together for dusting and I dust mine 4 out of 5 feedings. You also should have a small dish of straight calcium with D3 in their tank. Hope this has helped
