A python will mostly pick a spot, sit there for a while, then pick another spot, and often the spot it picks will be hidden. So, while I actually think the Ackie is the coolest pet on that list, it also takes a lot of space and is, ultimately, just one more active diurnal pet. So actually I say the leopard geckos. That way if you come home at midnight you can still have something that's consistantly out and scurrying around doing stuff. Between providing you with entertainment during a period of time that the other animals do not, the leos require far less space, food, substrate, and money than the monitor or tegu. There's something to be said for that. I have lots of pets, and from right where I'm sitting I can see three different enclosures, but right now it's 1:45 AM and the only one that's still awake is a cane toad who I have to keep in the back room because she HATES people!
