Posted by: BobLabla at Sat Jan 9 07:38:51 2010 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by BobLabla ] Although a kinky tail can result from forceably removing an animal from its perch the injury is more likely the result of sexing a very young gtp(under the age of 1) y using the "popping"method. This obviously should never be done to young animals because of possible spinal injurys like kinked tails. Thay also may not appear right away and could take several months to become visible. There have been many documented case of kinked tail animals having no problems breeding and laying viable eggs but there have also been cases of partial body paralasys that led to death. Moral of the story never attempt to sex a baby gtp and never buy a gtp under one year old that has been sexed no matter what the breeder/seller tells you about how great his technique is!
