Even though they may look similar you must remember one is a pyhton and one is a boa. The chondros are from papua/New guinea, indonesia and australia and the emeralds are from south america ranging from the amazon basin to suriname. The pythons are egg layers and the boas are live bearers. The cage setups are similar concernig heat/hunidity and arboreal type. The boas should be fed much less frequently than the chondros. As for price- there are high end or designer lines for both animals which will affect the price. The chondros have many different localities which tend to have different characteristics/markings on thier bodies.(you will have to do your own research on that, too many to type) In my opinion there are way more available cb chondros than etb's on the market. If you find a cheap etb more than likely it is a wold caught import and in my opiniuon should be avoided especially if you plan on keeping it in a room with other herps. They carry many parasites that can kill your whole collection. An average price for a pair of cb etbs is about 1000$. If you want to go with the amazon basin locale of etbs then you are looking ar alot more money. Since it sounds like you have some experience with herps you should probaly go with a nice cb chondro. If you are not looking for desigenr bloodlines you can still get a beutiful baby gtp for 250-400. The best part about getting a baby is getting to watch it change colors as it matures. I have done it with 3 chondro babies ive raised to be 8 yrs old and it was awesome! I am unable to comment about Amazon tree boas since I have never kept or researched them. There is obviously alot more stuff i am leaving out about these two animals but I feel i have skimmed the surface enough to give you a good idea.
