Their are a few variations or morphs from different populations. The most common is the New Guinea frillie which seem to have smaller frills and a charcoal/deep brown color with silver lace patterns , this pattern is true for all of the morphs as hatchlings. Then their are the Queensland variety or called yellow phase which have larger frills, less body pattern and some with no body pattern as adults. Then their are the Northern territory morph or population that have huge frills, fatter tails with a raspy prickly scaleation close to the tail base and color that is out of this world. Adults can vary from solid lemon yellow to orange and deep red, the most common trait I have seen over the years be it in my own collection or video taken from Australia is the stomachs starting from the bottom of the neck down is jet black . Very awesome frillies with bigger heads and a bit stockier overall. This bloodline I worked with had such an array of color it was comparable to the sandfire bearded dragon line which spawned many color morphs including the lemon citrus. To date a friend of mine overseas does still work with my bloodline in part but I have gotten out of them back in 2001 and it seems the folks who bought them had miserable breeding results and they have all but vanished from what I can see. You can look at my web site and see some of the breeders we use to work with, we produced enough to really establish here but it would seem our customers did not follow through with their propagation plans. Go to www.herphatch.com and you will see some awesome frillies. As far as personality in comparison to beardies? Frillies are not as laid back as most beardeds there are always exceptions though and some of my females were real gems to keep and most of our males were a bit naughty but never bit us.
