Yeah thats what I figure also, I know of a american gator and a nile croc that mated for years but never took, also a friend in Ohio has a cougar and leopard that mate but never take.

I just thought it would be cool if such a hybrid could be done, plus it would make things easy for me as I cant seem to get a hold of a breedable male Osteoleamus, not to mention it would make the offspring available outside my state.

Maybe ill still try it ....
