I have sent my letters and made phone calls to oppose and I encourage all garter snake enthusists to do the same, it only took 5 minutes of my precious time. You may think this does not effect the lowly, harmless garters, but in fact it does, because this industry/hobby that we all love and the freedoms that we enjoy are under attack, it's not just about the "Big 9", it's about some people don't like big snakes, any snakes, any reptiles, any pets, and they want to impose their will and step on us and take that "right", legal ability, privilege,... away.
If I came you your house and said, "give me all your garter snakes", would you just say "OK"?

Don't come crying to me when all snakes are banned and become black market, I've aleady seen it happen in the city I grew up in. Imagine no snakes in pet shops, no reptile shows, no Kingsnake, no snakes for sale on the internet.....period.
It happened in the city I grew up in and it could happen to the entire country. As much as I really, truely, truely despise all the political B.S. and jumping through hoops and do not feel this should even be an issue worthy of discussion, arguement, let alone a fight, "a line has been draw in the sand".
Send a couple letters and send the slimy little worms back into their burrows for good.
I appologize if this sounds brash or offensive to anyone, but please give it some attention.
